TLS certificate

A signed file that binds a domain name to a public key, issued by a certificate authority. Browsers check it before they open an HTTPS connection, and refuse the site once it expires. Certificates are short-lived, so teams renew them automatically, for example with ACME and Let's Encrypt.

The Certificate expired Incident can start from Seed. While it runs, every browser refuses the site: every request from Users fails as down, for up to 60 s. Press Renew to end it. Certificate automation research renews certificates before they expire, so the Incident never starts again.
