Continuous delivery

A practice that keeps software in a state where any change can be released safely at any time, through an automated pipeline that builds, tests, and deploys it. It makes releases small, frequent, and easy to roll back.

Delivery

In Quorum#

Before the Continuous delivery Research, a deploy takes 30 minutes by hand. After it, a pipeline deploys in 5 minutes, so more deploys fit in the 8-hour work day with the build and the 15-minute check. It also lets you roll back a Bad deploy, which ends the Incident and puts its Features back in line for the next deploy. A bad deploy fails 8% of App Server requests per item it shipped, up to 40%, so smaller deploys break less.
