Connection pooling
Keeping a set of open database connections and sharing them among many clients, instead of opening one per client or per request. It saves connection setup time and keeps the database under its connection limit.

In Quorum#
The Database accepts 100 connections and refuses the rest. Every App Server process holds its own pool: 1 connection per PHP or Gunicorn worker, 5 per Puma process, 10 for Node.js or Go. A Connection Pooler in transaction mode shares 20 server connections among all of them, but fails 5% of pooled queries until you fix the code's session state. The Connection exhaustion Incident doubles every pool.
