ReferenceGlossary
MTTR
Mean time to restore (or recover): the average time from the start of a failure until the service works again. It measures how fast a team detects, diagnoses, and fixes problems. DORA now measures a narrower version, failed deployment recovery time.

Every Incident ends with a Postmortem that shows its MTTR: the calendar minutes in which more than 1% of requests failed. An Incident that has hurt users more than half the time by its halfway point escalates one severity and runs 1.5 times as long. Keep MTTR down by acting fast: restart, replace, or fail over the hit Node, and research the Postmortem's action item.
