Eventual consistency

A consistency model where replicas can return old data for a while after a write. If no new writes arrive, all replicas converge to the same latest value.

Data

In Quorum#

A Read Replica lags behind writes, so up to 15% of its reads come back stale, and up to 50% during the Replication lag Incident. A Wide-column Store whose R + W is not greater than N also serves stale reads. A stale read fails an API read and a checkout that reads its own write. Read-your-writes routing sends those reads to the primary instead.
