Brooks's law
"Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later," from Fred Brooks's 1975 book The Mythical Man-Month. New people need time to ramp up, and the paths of communication grow faster than headcount.
Team
In Quorum#
A Team's effective size is n / (1 + 0.08(n − 1) + 0.0004·n(n − 1)), so 8 people work like about 5, and past about 48 people a Team gets slower. A new hire also works at 30% for their first calendar week. The penalty counts inside each Team, so splitting people into up to 4 Teams helps, and Symfony lowers it by 30%.
